Cambium's goal is to have a tangible impact on global carbon removal objectives by designing sustainable ecosystems focused on reforestation and the generation of carbon credits.

To ensure long-term viability, we care about both the environmental and the economic sustainability of our initiatives by combining, where it makes sense, forest development with other traditional economic activities such as livestock farming or timber production. THE CHALLENGE

Limiting global warming is only possible by combining a reduction in our emissions with the removal of carbon emitted into the atmosphere. The most efficient tool we have to absorb CO₂ from the air is our trees.

However, creating new forests requires capital, land access, deep forestry knowledge, technology and a long-term commitment.

Evaluation of the viability of a given asset for a project. Based on data from multiple sources in Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil.

Economic design focused on removal costs and impact maximization. Based on proprietary species growth data.

CAMBIUM MRV:

Combination of high-resolution multispectral satellite images, LiDAR and UAV technologies, real field data, climate projections, and AI tools to measure carbon reserves, monitor plantations, and ensure efficient management of our reforestation efforts.

CAMBIUM CARBON STOCK:

Support tools for the monitoring and verification processes of the carbon inventory. Based on proprietary species growth data and field measurements.

CAMBIUM DATA-DRIVEN MONITORING:

Automatic generation of client reports with key CO₂ removal performance indicators.

WHO WE ARE

WHY CAMBIUM?

How to name a company with the mission to sequester CO₂ and restore the balance of our atmosphere? How can we emphasize our commitment to nature-based solutions as the most effective way to achieve this goal?

Unlike animals, trees never stop growing. Their Cambium, the layer of non-specialized cells underneath the bark, allows trees to grow in volume by generating new tissues such as the xylem and the phloem. Cambium is therefore the main tissue responsible for carbon sequestration, as the specialized cells that derive from it consolidate the sugars that were created during photosynthesis, transforming them into lignin and cellulose, biopolymers which fix and store the carbon that trees removal from the CO₂ in the atmosphere.

In addition to its botanical meaning, the Latin etymology of Cambium means change.

We began our journey in South America, where we have a deep understanding of the land, nature, trees, and society.

Additionally, Central and South America are home to a significant portion of the planet's afforestation and reforestation potential. Therefore, we believe that investments should be focused primarily where they can yield the fastest results against the climate emergency that we are facing.

However, while we started where we feel comfortable and we see high potential for positive impact, our platform and our ambition are as global as the challenge we face.
